Founded in 1998, Sport dans la Ville is France’s leading organization dedicated to social integration through sports. It works to promote equal opportunities by fostering the social and professional integration of young people from priority neighborhoods.
Its mission is to give the young people it supports the confidence, motivation, and resources they need to succeed.
Reporting to the Sports & Discovery Manager for the Hauts-de-France region, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing a sports center in the city of Valenciennes:
• Working with a team of instructors and a work-study student, you are responsible for leading the sessions and ensuring that the educational approach of Sport dans la Ville is followed. You build close, trusting relationships with the young people enrolled in the sports programs.
• You actively participate in organizing activities for the “ Sport dans la Ville ” programs: company visits, training workshops, cultural and sports outings, summer camps, and international trips, etc. You are attentive to the career guidance and professional experience needs of young people in the region.
• You regularly meet with the families of the young people in their homes to inform them about the programs offered by theorganization and to foster a closer relationship with their children.
• You will develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in your service area: schools, local employment agencies, businesses, employment support organizations, prevention organizations, community centers, sports clubs, etc.
• You’ll take part in theorganization ’s key events (seminars, training sessions, sports tournaments, special events, camps, and retreats, etc.).
SKILLS:
•Proven interpersonal and mediation skills, particularly with young people
• Knowledge of the business world and regional employment issues
• Proficiency with computer software (Office Suite)
- B driving license required
• Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3) through master’s degree (Bac+5) or equivalent (ideally, holder of a BPJEPS, Brevet d’Etat, or Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science)
