Founded in 1998, Sport dans la Ville is France’s leading organization dedicated to social integration through sports. It works to promote equal opportunities by fostering the social and professional integration of young people from priority neighborhoods.
Its mission is to give the young people it supports the confidence, motivation, and resources they need to succeed.
Reporting to the Sports & Discovery Manager for the Hauts-de-France region, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing a sports center in the city of Valenciennes:
• Working with a team of educators and a work-study student, you are responsible for leading the sessions and ensuring that the educational approach of Sport dans la Ville is followed. You build close, trusting relationships with the young people enrolled in the sports programs.
• You provide individualized support for the training and career placement projects of young people participating in the “ Job dans la Ville ” program. You meet with them regularly, assist them with their efforts, and provide them with advice and guidance to help them succeed.
• You will actively participate in organizing activities for the “ Sport dans la Ville ” programs: company visits, training workshops, cultural and sports outings, summer camps, and international trips, etc.
• You regularly meet with the families of the young people in their homes to inform them about the programs offered by theorganization and to foster a closer relationship with their children.
• You will develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in your service area: schools, local employment agencies, businesses, employment support organizations, prevention organizations, community centers, sports clubs, etc.
• You’ll take part in theorganization ’s key events (seminars, training sessions, sports tournaments, special events, camps, and retreats, etc.).
SKILLS:
•Proven interpersonal and mediation skills, particularly with young people
• Proven expertise in the field of workforce integration
• Knowledge of the business world
• Proficiency with computer software (Office Suite)
• Holder of a state-issued degree (preferably a BPJEPS, Brevet d’État, or bachelor’s degree in Sports Science)
- B driving license required
• A bachelor's or master's degree in human resources, management, or fields related to workforce integration.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• You have some initial experience as a project manager in the corporate world or the nonprofit sector.
• You have helped young people with their academic planning, training plans, and transition into the workforce.
• Management experience would be a plus.
